Why we chose Umbraco and DNN as our CMS platforms

A fair question, since they are two CMS platforms following significantly different philosophies regarding the way they manage content. What they share, though, is that they're both based on the Microsoft .NET Framework, (ASP.NET and ASP.NET MVC), use SQL Server as their (default) database engine, and they are two of the best and most popular CMS platforms developed on these technologies. Creating a custom website using the .NET Framework is a fascinating experience. We have been working with ASP.NET, C# and SQL Server more years than we dare to admit so this was a very easy choice.
